I know there are a ton of dieting programs that you can get your food sent to you in a box, or websites where you pay for recipes corelating to your personal needs. But I was curious as to whether anyone knows of free sites that provide dieting plans and menus, either low calorie or something similar.
Yes! http://www.sparkpeople.com .. you can customize the diet plans according to your food preferences, weight, age , fitness level etc. Best part is that it’s all free. I’ve been using sparkpeople since july and I’ve lost 50lbs…so I know it works!
I gained a lot of weight when I had my son 3 years ago and just haven’t had the time to exercise. I do now and I need to take control of my weight and health. Does anyone know where I should start? What workouts will be effective but not shock my body? Does anyone know any websites where I can plug in my height and weight and get a free personalized weight loss plan including what I should and shouldn’t eat? I am so overwhelmed!
Thank you for your help and Happy New Year to you!
Also, we live in a condo community that has a 24 hour gym, so working out isn’t a problem, I just want to lose weight, not gain muscle.
Thanks!
When I started i got the weight watchers at home kit (ranges from $100-$130) you get everything you need to begin a proper lifestyle change. They really get into the diet and give suggestions for exercise.
If you wanted to start watching what you eat and walking 30 minutes a day for the first week — that may help you fell not so overwhelmed. Then each week add to the workout. Maybe walk 45 minutes on 3 days and 30 minutes on the other days. After a few weeks (4-5) begin adding strength training 2-3 times per week(every other day). You can get an at home video or just find some exercises online to work all you major muscles.
Remember to take it slow and steady — you want to make a lifestyle change and that takes time.
Best of luck — hope this helps!
